We recommend booking with at least two weeks lead time for most events. However, popular dates — especially peak Saturdays from May through October — can book up 1 to 2 years in advance. If you have a date in mind, the best thing you can do is reach out now.

Yes. A non-refundable retainer of 20–50% of your total package price is required to secure your date. This retainer is standard practice in the industry — it compensates DJ Press Play for holding your date and declining other bookings for that day.

The remaining balance is due closer to your event date as outlined in your contract.

If you need to cancel, the retainer is non-refundable in all cases. Beyond the retainer:

90+ days before the event: No additional fees. Only the retainer is forfeited.

60–90 days before the event: 50% of the remaining balance may be due.

Within 30 days of the event: The full remaining balance may be required, as rebooking at that stage is unlikely.

Once we've confirmed your package and date, you'll receive a standard entertainment services agreement covering all the essentials — event details, payment schedule, cancellation terms, and performance obligations. It's written in plain language and easy to review.

The contract can be signed digitally and returned quickly. Corporate clients can request addenda or rider modifications — we're used to working within procurement frameworks.

It's a partnership. You provide the direction — the themes, genres, energy, and vibe you're going for. For weddings, you'll also choose songs for specific moments like your first dance, processional, and cake cutting.

For the rest of the evening, DJ Press Play brings the professional expertise to fill in the gaps — reading the room, building energy, and keeping things flowing in a way that no pre-built playlist can match.

Absolutely — within reason. Requests are welcomed and encouraged as long as they fit the theme and energy of the event. DJ Press Play uses professional judgment to honor requests that enhance the experience while keeping the overall flow on track.

If a song doesn't fit the moment, it won't be played — but it may find its place later in the evening.

No. Explicit or vulgar content is simply not part of the collection. Clean, edited versions are always the default — no special request needed. Every event is naturally family-friendly.

This isn't a restriction — it's a standard. Your guests span all ages and backgrounds, and everyone deserves to enjoy the evening comfortably.

Yes. DJ Press Play is fully bilingual and can MC your event in English, Spanish, or both — whatever best serves you and your guests. Just let us know your preference during the planning process.

Travel within 30 miles is always included at no extra charge. For events beyond that — Massachusetts, Connecticut, Cape Cod, Boston, and beyond — extended travel is available and quoted per event.

Destination events across New England are welcome. Just reach out and we'll put together a custom proposal.

Yes. DJ Press Play arrives with a complete professional setup — speakers, DJ equipment, and everything needed for a flawless performance. You don't need to coordinate anything on the equipment side.

We can also integrate with your venue's existing AV system as an add-on if the space calls for it — useful for larger venues with built-in speaker systems or presentations.

DJ Press Play typically arrives at least 90 minutes before the event start time to set up, sound check, and coordinate with your venue and other vendors. Setup is clean, professional, and completed before the first guest walks in.

You'll never have to worry about a DJ still setting up when your guests arrive.

Yes. Sounds By Santes is fully insured — a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming your venue can be provided on request. A current W-9 is on file and delivered immediately upon contract execution for corporate clients.

ACH bank transfer, corporate check, and online payment are all accepted. Deposit required to secure your date.

Yes. The Grand Day package includes full ceremony coverage — wireless speaker setup, officiant microphone, processional, and recessional music — through cocktail hour and full reception.

Ceremony sound is also available as a standalone add-on (+$700) for couples who want to keep the ceremony and reception packages separate.

After booking you'll receive access to your private online planning portal where you'll fill in your must-play list, do-not-play list, first dance song, processional, and all other key moments — at your own pace.

We'll then connect for a dedicated planning consultation call before your wedding day to walk through the timeline, confirm every detail, and make sure there are zero surprises on the day.

Absolutely. DJ Press Play works directly with your planner, caterer, and venue team to ensure every cue — dinner service, first dance, toasts, cake cutting — happens at exactly the right moment. Vendor coordination is a standard part of every wedding package.

Yes. Wireless LED uplighting is available as an add-on for +$500. Colors are matched to your wedding palette and set up throughout the venue to transform the atmosphere for your reception.

Sounds By Santes serves a wide range of corporate events including annual galas, holiday parties, brand activations, networking events, award banquets, product launches, and private corporate celebrations across Rhode Island and New England.

Yes. The Gala & Private Event Production tier includes custom hex-color wireless LED uplighting matched precisely to your corporate brand palette. Just provide your brand colors and we'll dial them in before the event.

Yes. The Tier II package includes a multi-microphone expansion — handheld wired, wireless lapel, and headset — for presenters, speakers, and honorees. Additional microphones are available as add-ons for larger productions.

In the unlikely event of an emergency, DJ Press Play maintains a professional network of trusted local DJs who can step in with a similar style and caliber of service. This is standard practice in the professional DJ industry.

You would be notified immediately and a replacement of equal professionalism would be arranged — at no additional cost to you. Your event will not be left without coverage.
